2009 SPRING VALLEY

FISHING and ICE FISHING RULES

Non-Residents

You must be a guest of a paid Association Member, or renting property in Spring Valley from a paid Association Member.

 

If you are not a paid Association Member or guest of a paid Association Member, you are trespassing on private property.

FISHING RULES

 

 

bulletFishing is only permitted when the green flag is flying under the American flag on the island.
bulletFishing start and close times are ½ hour before sunrise and ½ hour after sunset.  No night fishing is permitted on any lake or pond.
bulletThe use of minnows for bait, chumming, and seining is prohibited.
bulletNo cleaning fish in the lake, on the ground around lakes, or in the restroom.
bulletYou may not fill another person’s daily limit.
bulletRemove all trash when you leave.
bulletPets must be leashed while on common property and droppings picked up by the owner.
bulletParents have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their children while on common property.
bulletNo motorized vehicles of any kind are permitted on trails, lakes, ponds, dams or common property.
bulletNo overnight parking is permitted in the pavilion parking lot or on any other common property.
bulletNo hunting, trapping or discharge of firearms is permitted on any common property.
bulletAny unsafe or disruptive activity will result in removal from common property and may result in loss of fishing privileges and/or membership.
bulletSwimming and wading is not permitted in any lake or pond at any time.
bulletJet skis and water skiing are not permitted in any lake or pond at any time.
bulletTimes for Ice Fishing vary based on depth of ice.  Ice fishing is only permitted on Burgess Lake.  Watch for the green flag on the island to know when it is permitted; however, still proceed on ice with caution.
bulletNo fishing holes can be more than 10 inches in diameter, or 10 inches square.
bulletNo ice fishing is permitted near aerator, 50 feet from the face of the dam, or 50 feet from the creek entrance on the south end of the lake.
bulletIce huts may be used, but must be removed daily.
bulletNo fires are permitted on the lake/ice.
bulletNo throwing rocks, sticks or anything else on the ice.
bulletNo motorized vehicles are permitted on the ice at anytime.
bulletProperty owners are responsible for making sure they, as well as their guests and renters, are aware of these rules.

ICE FISHING RULES

Ice fishing is only open when the green flag is flying on the island; however, you will still need to proceed with caution!

Fees for Ice Fishing are the same as applicable daily fishing fees for fishing this year.  The money collected will go towards stocking additional fish in the spring.

ANY VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF FISHING PRIVILEGES AND/OR MEMBERSHIP.
